One of the most powerful tools local small businesses can use to connect with their target audience and drive qualified customers to their business is a Google My Business (GMB) listing. These listing consist primarily of a Google Maps listing and a Google Plus Local page. If the GMB listing is properly claimed, verified, and optimized this will allow the small business to be more easily found when someone searches Google for the goods and/or services they offer.
Since November 2014 I’ve had the opportunity to work with a group of other knowledgeable Google professionals on a project called EagleCo. This project took a group of small town merchants located in Eagle, Colorado and helped them properly claim, verified, optimized and socialize their GMB listing. Not only was this done so that they could be found locally, but also to tap into the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships happening a short distance away in Vail, Colorado.
