Locally we have an initiative built around assisting local businesses find and utilize overseas markets to expand their scope of business. Supporting this initiative is CIBA, Center for International Business Advancement. Its headed by Dr. Elena A. Iankova.
Exporting holds a special place in my heart as my first business venture involved exporting goods to Japan, Australia and parts of Europe. While I’m no longer involved in exporting, I thought it would be worthwhile to determine what Google or Google related resources could be leveraged so as to assist these local firms with their efforts of exporting their products and services overseas.
As such, here is an ad-hoc list of such resources.
I. Google’s Canadian program – This program educates and enables small – medium sized businesses on how to harness the products of Google to reach overseas markets. The main landing page provides a great directory to other resources for exporting.
II. Google Adwords – Many of us are aware of Adwords and what it can do. When it comes to enhancing your export efforts with Adwords, there are two approaches that can be used. First use Google Adwords as a low cost tool for testing target markets concerning the receptivity to new products and services. Second, use Google Adwords to connect with your audience in overseas markets.
You can learn more about leveraging Google Adwords for export opportunities by viewing this Google Partners video.
III. Export Trampoline From Think With Google – Features a wide range of resources that can be extrapolated for other uses. These include:
IV. Miscellaneous Google Export related resources – There are several other Google related resources that can be leveraged to assist with your export related efforts. These include:
